Mark Perdue of the Holyhead G C is the new County match play champion. In the eighteen hole final, played at Henllys G C, Beaumaris he beat Bull Bay's Aled Jones by a one hole margin. The Holyhead golfer raced in to an early lead being four up after the opening eight holes but a spirited fightback by his opponent saw the match level after the twelfth. After an exchange of holes on the next four the match stood all square on the 17th tee which Perdue won with a par three and a par on the closing hole won him the title.
 

The county Seniors team beat Caernarfonshire by three matches to two at Bull Bay G C.

The sixth and final round of this year's Rawlinson Shield was postponed at Henllys G C because of damage to trees on the course the previous night by strong overnight winds. The competition is now listed to be played next Monday, September 19th at the same venue, teeing off from 12:15 p m onwards.

Bull Bay G C - Iwan T Roberts ,Bull Bay G C 39 points

Baron Hill G C - Adam Warriner Baron Hill G C 43 points

The Ynys Mon individual championship was won by Adam Warriner (Baron Hill G C) with a four round aggregate score of 140 points with Bethan Williams (Holyhead G C) capturing the Megan Pritchard Sports Development Award for Girls with a points total of 125
 

The Anglesey Youth team won the North Wales Inter Counties Championship at Pwllheli G C. The team comprising of Mark Parry and Chris Pratt (Holyhead G C) Mathew Rankenhohn (Baron Hill G C) Darren Owen and Adam Warriner (Henllys G C) and Eddie Beardsley (Storws Wen G C) totalled 604 to pip Denbighshire by two shots.

The success of the youths is a credit to the Union's junior / youth organiser. Randall Richards of the Henllys G C whose efforts with the age groups over many years ensured this deserved victory. Tribute must be paid also to Elizabeth Youren of the Baron Hill G C whose administrative skills have proved a vital part of the Union's programme with the juniors and youths.
