| County Match Play Reaches Semi Final Stage |

|
The draw for the semi final of the County Match play
championship has been made and the possibility of an all Holyhead
final is still alive.
In the first match Colin Jones of Holyhead travels to
face Aled Jones at Bull Bay - the other match sees Mark Perdue having
home advantage at Holyhead against Paul Roberts of Baron Hill G C.
The semi final matches have to be played on or before
Sunday, July 24th.

| Sion is New County Champion |

Sion Thomas, a member of the home club, won the 36 hole County
Championship at Bull Bay G C. Thomas, who won the event at Holyhead in
2006, opened with a morning 72 and his afternoon round of 76 for a
total of 148 was enough for him to win the event by two shots.
Leading scores:-
Sion Thomas - Bull Bay G C 72 + 76 = 148
Jack Carter - Bull Bay G C 74 + 76 = 150
Mark Parry - Holyhead G C 78 + 74 = 152
Thomas' opening round of 72 - 3 - 69 was the best return in the 18
hole medal for the H V Roberts Trophy but Union rules only allowing a
competitor to take one prize meant that the trophy went to Deiniol
Roberts of Baron Hill G C with a score of 75 - 5 - 70

Sion Thomas - Bull Bay G C 72 - 3 - 69
Deiniol Roberts - Baron Hill G C 75 - 5 - 70
Ian Norgain - Bull Bay G C 74 - 3 - 71
Aled Jones - Bull Bay G C 77 - 5 - 72.
The team championship was won by Baron Hill's B team with a best five
out of six best score total of 372, Bull Bay came second on 374.
Winning team members were:- Simon Owen, L Hudson Jones, Deiniol
Roberts, T W Jones, W Madine and Myrddin Roberts. |

Kieran Robinson of the Anglesey G C Rhosneigr has been selected in a team of two to represent Wales in the European Young Masters in Hungary during the week commencing July 18th............. an honour which was also bestowed on another Rhosneigr golfer, David Lovell, in 2005.

The third round of the Rawlinson Shield was played at Holyhead Golf
Club. The best individual nett score of the day was returned by Ken Evans of Bull Bay G C with a score of 73 - 9 - 64. Team scores for the day were:- Bull Bay GC 426, Holyhead G C 438, Storws Wen G C 450, Henllys G C 461, Anglesey G C 469, Baron Hill G C 479.

The fourth round of the competition will be played at the Baron Hill G C on Thursday, July 14th.
